A few years ago – although it seems like a lifetime ago – I started my career after college with one of the DC area Anthropologie stores. When I worked there, we were encouraged to explore our personal style through their products to which I very much obliged. For the past several years, I have been pulling outfits from my extensive stock of timeless Anthropologie dresses for baby showers, photo shoots, weddings, baptisms, etc. I am not shy to wear the same thing twice, especially if I love it. Not buying a new outfit for every occasion helps me cut down on the waste and resources associated with making and selling clothing, avoid clutter, and genuinely love what I own. Since I rarely shop for clothes, I make sure that, when the time finally comes, the items fit me well, make me feel confident, are quality-made, and composed of fabrics that fit my lifestyle.

Since I had exhausted my Anthropologie closet I decided to go for it and pick out some new staples for my summer events. One of the dresses that I landed on is this beautiful blue and white dress from Tuckernuck. I have been following along with Tuckernuck since their Uscoop days so it seemed fitting to fall in love with a dress from their first collection! They have the most beautifully curated collection that is such a joy to shop.

This dress is mostly made up of cotton, which I love because it is so breathable, lightweight, and easy to care for. I like to make a statement without being overly trendy and the shape, color, and floral toile pattern, while showstopping, are timeless. Blue and white forever!

I paired that lovely dress with these amazing wicker earrings. I am attracted to anything woven whether it is for my home, my outfit, my cat (seriously my cat has a jute scratching post and it’s very chic) so when I saw these incredible earrings from interior designer and jewelry designer, Nicola Bathie, I swooned and clicked “buy.” I have been wearing them a lot to add some oomph and a natural element to my outfits. Plus, I love that they are handmade. Nicola has so. many. fun earrings to choose from. Speaking of Anthropologie, some of her pieces are available there now!

I wore this outfit to my dear friends (now cousins-in-law!) gorgeous wedding in Annapolis, Maryland. The reception was at the Paca House and Gardens, which is stunning. I highly recommend visiting if you are ever in the area.

I can’t wait to wear these pieces to other events in the future and show you what else I’ve purchased for the summer!
